Coyote Sighting in London

Residents of London's north end are being advised of coyote sightings.

London Police say the sightings are currently concentrated on a wooded area northwest of Richmond St and Western Rd. Residents directed police to a walking path along the river, where five or six coyotes were observed.  The animals are described as having light grey or white fur and weighing 45 to 50 pounds each. Police say the coyotes did not appear to be intimidated by the presence of humans.

Animal Care and Control has been notified, police say, but the public is urged to keep an eye out for additional sightings.

Pets should be kept on a leash and people should not try to approach or tease the animals.
