Teen Suspect Sought In Church Fire

London police are looking for a teenage suspect after a church in Lambeth was set on fire.

Firefighters were called to the Bethel Baptist Church on Campbell St. N around 10:15pm last Friday. Fire crews quickly determined the blaze was suspicious in nature. Following an investigation with police, it was ruled a case of arson.

The fire caused an estimated $3,000 in damages.

Police are hoping the public can help them track down a young man seen acting suspiciously in the area of the church around 1:30pm on the day of the fire.

He is described as Caucasian, 13-15-years-old, 5'-5'5'' with a thin build, short brown hair, and clean shaven.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
