Woman Assaulted In City's East End

London police have arrested a man after he allegedly assaulted a woman in London's east end with an edged-weapon.

Police say the incident was reported by a female victim around 10pm Friday night, in the Hilton Ave. area.

Once police arrived, the woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say two men approached the woman, when a male suspect allegedly assaulted her with a weapon.

Both men fled the area but were found by police at a nearby location.

Police say the male suspect was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.

It's believed the suspect and the victim didn't know each other.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
