Driver Charged After Rear-Ending Motorcycle

A Norfolk County woman has been charged after a motorcycle was struck from behind in Tillsonburg, sending the rider to hospital with serious injuries.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Monday around 7:20pm, a four-door Honda car rear-ended a Honda motorcycle that was stopped at a read light on Simcoe St. at Vienna Rd.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 68-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.  He remains in hospital in serious condition.

The 49-year-old Norfolk County woman who was driving the car was not injured, and has since been charged with careless driving.

The intersection was closed for several hours while police conducted an investigation.
