UPDATE: Crash Knocks Out Power in London Neighbourhood

Crews worked to restore power to a south London neighbourhood after a vehicle hit a light pole Saturday.

London Police say a single car traveling on Wellington Rd near Southdale Rd somehow lost control, went off the road and struck a light pole.

There was no word on injuries but the impact knocked out power at the intersection and in portions of the White Oaks area. Additional power outages in the area were caused by a thunderstorm Saturday which passed through the area with heavy rain and hail.

London Hydro had crews working to restore power late Saturday night, and they say they expect all affected customers to be back online before daybreak Sunday.

Power was restored Sunday at approximately 7 am.
