UPDATE: Fatal Multi-Vehicle Truck Crash On 402

Ontario Provincial Police are reporting one fatality in a crash at noon Wednesday involving three transport trucks.

The chain-reaction rear-end collision occurred on the westbound Hwy. 402 approach to the Blue Water Bridge, east of the Christina St. overpass.

Police, firefighters and EMS were called to the scene and there was talk that air ambulance might be deployed.

OPP Sergeant Dave Rektor says the other drivers involved in the collision were not seriously injured and were treated at the scene and released.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

After initially being shut down at Indian Rd., the closure of all westbound lanes was extended further east to Modeland Rd.

The OPP reopened the highway just before midnight.
