Police Warn Of Caller Posing As Cop

St. Thomas police are warning the public about a man posing as a cop, trying to get personal information out of people over the phone.

A man claiming his name is officer Craig Williams has been calling people across the country and uses aggressive techniques to get personal information, according to new release issued by police on Wednesday.

Police say the impersonator gives a fake phone number that is not associated with any police service in Canada. They urge anyone who receives a similar call not to give out personal information and to hang up and call the local police station.

So far, police believe the man's attempts to coerce individuals into disclosing personal information have been unsuccessful.
