NDP Leadership Candidate To Visit London

One of the four people vying to become the next leader of the federal New Democrats will be in London on Tuesday.

Jagmeet Singh will meet with supporters and other Londoners at The Root Cellar on Dundas St. at 4pm. The London stop is part of Singh's AmaSINGH Race Tour, which will see him visit four cities in one day. He will also be in Kitchener and Hamilton Tuesday evening.

Last week, London-West NDP MPP Peggy Sattler announced her support for Singh.

“Jagmeet is a gifted communicator, who is uniquely able to help the NDP build a growing coalition across social democratic communities in both urban and suburban Canada. He is warm and authentic, with an unwavering and deeply rooted commitment to social justice. I am proud to endorse him for leader of Canada’s NDP," said Sattler.

Signh, who has been an MPP since 2011, is looking to make the leap to federal politics. Other candidates running to replace Thomas Mulcair include Niki Ashton, Guy Caron, and Charlie Angus.

Voting for the new party leader begins on September 18.
