Cyclist Injured In St. Thomas Collision

St. Thomas police are investigating after a cyclist was seriously injured when she was hit by a car.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Elm St. between Wilson Ave. and Parkside Dr. around 7:15am Tuesday morning. The cyclist was riding south on the pathway at Elm St. when she was hit. According to police, she suffered significant injuries in the collision.

Initially, police said she wasn't carrying any identification and they were hoping the public could help them determine her identity. They released a photo of her bike (shown above) in hopes someone might recognize it.

On Tuesday afternoon, police announced that they had been able to determine the cyclist's identity.

They are still investigating the collision. Anyone with any information is asked to call St. Thomas police at 519-631-1224.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
