Toddler In Critical Condition After Near-Drowning

The OPP are reminding pool owners to make safety their top priority after a young child was left in life threatening condition.

Emergency crews were called to a home in Lucan-Biddulph Township around 8:15pm Wednesday after a 3-year-old boy was found in the family pool.

Family members and EMS workers were able to resuscitate the child and he was rushed to hospital, where he is in critical condition.

" The OPP are reminding homeowners with pools and open water on their property to always be extra vigilant to ensure everyone's safety," police said in a statement released Thursday morning. "Though sometimes unthinkable tragedies occur, the OPP encourage everyone to do their part to prevent it from happening."
