Charges Laid In Pot Dispensary Raid

A day after London police raided a marijuana dispensary on Richmond Row, charges have been laid against five people.

London police swooped in on the London Relief Centre at 691 Richmond St. shortly after it opened for the day at 10am Wednesday. Officers seized 4,211.5g of marijuana bud, 35g of hash oil, 40g of shatter, and a variety of THC infused products. Police estimate the value of the products at nearly $50,000.

Computer equipment, an ATM, and approximately $15,000 in cash were also seized by police.

Three Londoners, a 27-year-old Mississauga man, and a 20-year-old Toronto man are charged with possessing a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The Toronto man faces an additional charge of public mischief for giving a false name.

The pot shop opened earlier this month and sold to customers 19 years of age and older regardless of whether or not they had a medical marijuana prescription.
