City Giving Away Free Trees On National Tree Day

The City of London is giving away free trees.

Wednesday marks National Tree Day, and to celebrate, the city has set up three locations to give away a variety of trees.

It's is hoping that the tree giveaway will help the million tree challenge with the goal of planting a million trees in the city.

There are limited quantities and the giveaway will operate on a first come, first served basis.

Tree types include Birch, Black Cherry, Honey Locust, several varieties of Maple trees, Apple and Pear trees, Serviceberry, White Pine, and Redbud.  Locations and times are below.

Exeter Road Operations Centre 707 Exeter Rd, London, ON N6E 1L3 9am to 2pm

Community EnviroDepot 1570 Oxford St W, London, ON N6H 1W1 9am to 3pm

Evening Tree Pick-Up Location:

Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre 656 Elizabeth St, London, ON N5Y 6L3 4pm to 8pm

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
