Transport Truck Hits OPP Cruiser

A Middlesex OPP officer was taken to hospital after a police cruiser at the side of Hwy. 401 was hit by a transport truck.

OPP say, around 4pm Saturday, the officer pulled over an unlicenced driver in the eastbound lanes between Highbury Rd. and Veterans Memorial Parkway. A passing transport in the outside lane truck didn't move over and sideswiped the cruiser, causing what police are calling "significant" damage.

The officer, who was in the cruiser when it was struck by the transport truck, suffered minor injuries.

The truck pulled over after the collision. Police are still investigating.

Anyone with information that hasn't spoken to police is asked to contact Middlesex County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
