Knights Trample Rangers 5-1

The London Knights snapped an eight game losing streak with a 5-1 victory over the Kitchener Rangers on Friday.

Max Jones kicked things off for the Knights with a goal 1:11 into the first period, followed by Robert Thomas who scored to make it 2-0 for the Knights after 11:50.

Thomas scored his second of the night early in the second frame, as did Jones just after nine minutes to make it 4-0.  The Rangers finally made it on the board with a goal in the final minutes of the second.

Jones completed a hat-trick after scoring 14:30 into the final period to cap off the Knights win.

London goaltender Joseph Raaymakers made 35 saves out of 36 shots on net.

The Knights will return to the ice on Sunday when they head to Mississauga to face off against the Steelheads. The puck drops at 2pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
