One Dead in Motorcycle Collision

A motorcycle rider has died following a crash on Melbourne Rd.

Ontario Provincial Police say the incident happened shortly after 3:30pm Sunday. The rider was traveling northbound on Melbourne between Duff Line and Carroll Rd in southwest Middlesex when the motorcycle somehow drove off the pavement and ended up in a ditch on the east side of the road.

The rider is deceased as a result of the collision and his identity will not be released until next-of-kin have been notified. OPP say no other vehicles were involved.

The Elgin County OPP, Munsee-Delaware Police Service and Middlesex-London EMS responded to the incident along with the Middlesex OPP.

Melbourne Rd between Duff Line and Jubilee Rd will be closed for several hours while investigators complete their work. Alternate routes are strongly recommended.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
