London police are hunting for a 22-year-old London man, wanted in connection with a vicious attack that left a variety store clerk clinging to life.
An arrest warrant for Jessie Aaron McConnell was issued on Monday. McConnell is wanted for aggravated assault in relation to the incident Saturday at the Horton Variety at the corner of Horton St. and Clarence St.
Police were called to the store for a "disturbance" around 6:50pm and found the 56-year-old male store clerk, who had been severely beaten, outside. He was rushed to hospital where, as of Monday afternoon, he remains in critical condition.
The Major Crime Section continues to investigate the assault.
Investigators are asking anyone who knows of McConnell's whereabouts, not to approach him, but to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
