Knights Quell The Storm 7-4

The London Knights topped the Guelph Storm 7-4 in OHL action on Thursday.

Cliff Pu kicked things off for London with a goal 5:16 into the first peiod, but Guelph tied things up just over three minutes later with a goal of their own. Max Jones and Alex Formenton both scored before the end of the first 20 minutes to give London a 3-1 lead over the Storm.

Guelph scored early in the second to make it a one goal game, but Evan Bouchard added another point for London eight seconds before the end of the frame.

The Knights continued to control the puck in the third with Sam Miletic scoring after 1:32, and the Storm responded with another two goals to bring them within one goal.  Jones and Formenton each scored their second goal of the night in the final two minutes of the game to cap off the win for London.

London goaltender Joseph Raaymakers made 29 saves out of 33 shots on net.

The Knights will take on the Saginaw Spirit at Budweiser Gardens on Friday. The puck drops at 7:30pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
