Fatal House Fire North Of Ailsa Craig

Middlesex County OPP are investigating a house fire north of Ailsa Craig that claimed the lives of one person and three pets.

Police say emergency crews were called to the scene on Queen St. at around 4:30am Wednesday.

By the time officers showed up, the home was already engulfed in flames. Police were able to get neighbours to safety so that the fire department could respond properly.

Officers say when fire crews entered the building, they found the bodies of an adult and three pets.

Police have not released any more information about the victim yet.

The Office of the Fire Marshal and the Office of the Chief Coroner have both been called to the scene and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
