Lightning Weathers the Hurricanes 105-101

The London Lightning battled a storm to get their first regular season win.

London prevailed over the Halifax Hurricanes 105-101 Sunday afternoon at Budweiser Gardens, following a close back-and-forth battle that lasted throughout the contest.

The Lightning are now at 1-1 on the season.

Kirk Williams Jr. came off the bench and led London with 23 points, including eight-for-13 in field goals and a perfect five-for-five on free throws.

Royce White had 20 points. He also led the Lightning in rebounds with eight and was the team co-leader in assists with five. Garrett Williamson added 18 points and seven rebounds.

For Halifax, Billy White led the scoring with 27 points. Antoine Mason sank an additional 14 points, while Ta'Quan Zimmerman put in 12 and led the Hurricanes in rebounds with nine.

The Lightning next host the Saint John Riptide Thursday night.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
