Multi-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down EB 402 Near Strathroy

Provincial police have re-opened the eastbound lanes of the Hwy. 402 just east of Strathroy after a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday morning.

The eastbound lanes were closed for several hours at Hickory Dr. as crews cleaned up and police investigated the cause of the crash.

In a Periscope video taken at the scene, Middlesex OPP Constable Max Gomez says the crash involved three commercial vehicles and two passenger vehicles. He says one vehicle rear-ended another, setting off a chain reaction crash.

One person was airlifted to hospital. It's not known yet how serious that person's injuries are.
