Elderly Cyclist Critically Hurt In Hit And Run

London police are asking for anyone with information about a hit-and-run that left an 85-year-old man fighting for life to come forward.

The man was riding his bicycle in the area of Dundas St. and Hale St. around 5:45pm on Tuesday when he was hit by a vehicle. Police have said the driver of the vehicle took off from the scene before officers arrived.

The cyclist, whose name has not been released, was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries. As of Wednesday afternoon, he remained in critical condition.

Members of the Traffic Management Unit continue to investigate the collision. Witnesses or anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
