No Injuries In Fire North of London

The Middlesex Centre Fire Department says no one was home at a house north of London where fire broke out Saturday morning.

According to Fire Chief Colin Toth, firefighters responded to a fire on Saturday around 6:30am at a residence on Richmond St., just south of the village of Birr.

Toth says the fire department received unconfirmed reports of people trapped in the residence, which were false. He says OPP have confirmed that the family is currently on vacation, so no one was home at the time of the fire.

The fire is being investigated.

The OPP temporarily closed Hwy. 4 between 12 Mile Rd. and 13 Mile Rd. in Birr while firefighters responded to the fire. Toth says the road has since been reopened.
