Man Charged After Urine Hurled At OPP Officers

A Simcoe man is facing charges after allegedly throwing urine at provincial police officers.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Saturday officers responded to a report of mischief at an apartment building on Argyle St. in Simcoe. The officers discovered that around 4:45am, a fire detector on the second floor had been damaged, which set off a fire alarm.

When officers returned to the building just before 10am to continue their investigation, one of the tenants opened a door and "attempted to throw a liquid that resembled urine on the officers."

A 73-year-old man was arrested without incident and he has since been charged with assaulting a peace officer with a weapon and mischief.
