Three Charged In $45K Crime Spree

Three men face charges after St. Thomas police say more then $45,000 in property was stolen.

Police say they launched an investigation after getting pictures of the theft of a utility trailer from Stumps R Us in north St. Thomas. Tips from the public led St. Thomas police to an address in London. Police say they gathered enough information to search two other locations. In all, officers seized stolen property, a large quantity of legally owned firearms, one prohibited sawed off shotgun, and one prohibited high capacity magazine. They also seized a 2007 Ford pickup truck as offence related property.

The three men are charged with theft over $5,000. One if also charged facing weapons charges.

Police are thanking the public for its help in the investigation.

"The community response played a huge role in the successful outcome of this investigaton," St. Thomas police say in a statement released Friday. "Thanks also to members of the London Police Service who assisted in this multi jurisdictional effort."

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
