OPP Remind Drivers To Slow Down In the Snow

Some lake effect flurries that hit areas around London made for a busy Tuesday morning for Middlesex OPP.

Police say they were called to dozens of collisions on Hwy. 401 and Hwy. 402 as blowing snow and slippery roads made for tricky driving conditions. Police say that had to close lanes of Hwy. 402 at Talbot Rd. and Centre Rd. There were also lane reductions on Hwy. 401 between Veterans Memorial Parkway and Highbury Ave.

Around 9:30am, the OPP warned drivers of whiteout conditions in the Strathroy area.

The OPP is reminding drivers that they need to adjust their speed when weather conditions require it. Police also want drivers to be mindful of tow trucks and emergency crews responding to collisions.

"There is no room for error, please slow down for emergency vehicles, which include tow operators," said Constable Max Gomez of Middlesex OPP.
