UPDATE: Crash Victims Identified

Strathroy-Caradoc police have identified the teenager who was killed in a crash Saturday afternoon.

Police say the crash happened shortly before 1:30pm. Two vehicles were involved in the collision on Glendon Dr. west of Parkhouse Dr.

Constable Mark Thuss says in a news release that 13-year-old Avery Kernaghan from Mount Brydges was a passenger in one of the vehicles and was taken by ambulance to London Health Sciences Centre in critical condition. She later died at the hospital.

Her father 47-year-old Douglas Kernaghan was driving the vehicle. He also went to London, but by air ambulance, with critical injuries.

The driver and only occupant of the other vehicle was not hurt, says Thuss.

Strathroy-Caradoc Fire and EMS assisted police on the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Glendon Dr. was closed at that location for several hours but has since reopened.

Anyone with information on this crash who has not already spoken to police is asked to call Strathroy-Caradoc Police at (519) 245-1250.
