Woman Assaulted At Assisted Living Facility

A 38-year-old St. Thomas woman is facing an assault charge after allegedly punching her roommate at an assisted living facility.

Staff at the unnamed facility called St. Thomas police Sunday morning after a 53-year-old woman was punched. Police say the incident between two women began as a verbal argument and ended with one being hit.

The older woman was not injured while the 38-year-old woman was arrested.

She is now charged with one count of assault.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
