Pregnant Woman Hit by Car in Tillsonburg

Ontario Provincial Police are asking the public for help after a pregnant woman was hit by a car.

OPP in Oxford County say the incident happened Friday around 11:30am on Lisgar Ave near Van Norman Dr in Tillsonburg.

Constable Ken Johnston says the 21-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. The woman was treated and released from a local hospital with minor injuries and no harm to her unborn child.

Police are asking the driver of the vehicle that struck the woman to contact them. They are also appealing to a witness who helped the woman but did not remain at the scene to give them a call as well.

Anyone in the area of Lisgar Ave and Van Norman Dr on Friday who has not already spoken to police is urged to call Oxford County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can be phoned into Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-8477 (TIPS) or submitted online for a potential cash reward of up to $2,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
