Trucker Charged In Border Crash

A 53-year-old trucker from Delhi is charged after a chain-reaction crash that ripped the cab off of a tractor-trailer on Hwy. 402 near Sarnia.

Lambton OPP say a westbound transport truck slammed into the back of a stopped tractor-trailer that was waiting to cross the Blue Water Bridge into the U.S. around 5pm on Wednesday. The force of the crash sent the stopped big rig into a third transport truck. All three trucks were damaged in the collision.

One of the truck drivers was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The collision shut down a section of the 402 for nearly five hours. It was reopened around 9:30pm.

A 53-year-old Delhi man has been charged with careless driving.
