Knights Beat Otters For Fifth Straight Win

The London Knights scored their fifth win in a row with a 6-3 victory over the Erie Otters on Friday.

Richard Whittaker drew first blood for London with a goal 10:34 into the game, however, the Otters tied things up with a goal of their own early in the second period.Whittaker scored his second goal of the night 15 seconds later to put London back in the lead, but Erie scored again to tie things up just under the six minute mark.

Sergey Popov and Alex Formenton both scored to give the Knights a 4-2 lead heading into the third. The Otters added another goal early in the final period, but Nathan Dunkley scored to keep London two goals ahead.

Whittaker scored in the last nine seconds of the game to complete a hat-trick and cap off the win for the Knights.

Knights goaltender Joseph Raaymakers made 26 saves out of 29 shots on net.

The Knights will hit the road on Saturday to take on the Flint Firebirds at 7pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
