Fire Leads Police To Drug Lab

Three Londoners are facing charges after a garage fire in the east end uncovered a secret drug lab.

Firefighters discovered signs of the clandestine drug laboratory while battling the fire at an Ontario St. home on March 11. While searching the home, officers with the London police guns and drugs section found 18 g of marijuana shatter, 35 g of marijuana shake, 4 g of marijuana bud, and 5 g of marijuana oil. The drugs are valued at $1,890.

Butane canisters and extraction chambers were also seized from the property.

A 26-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the drug lab. An arrest warrant has been issued for a 25-year-old man.

All three are charged with possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a Schedule II substance, arson by negligence, arson with disregard for human life, and occupant injuring a building.

The 26-year-old man and 25-year-old woman are scheduled to appear in London court next month.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
