Update: Potentially Dangerous Man Arrested

Update: Elgin OPP announced Thursday morning that Lebreton had been arrested without incident.

Provincial police are searching for a Central Elgin man they believe could be dangerous to the public.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 30-year-old John Lebreton for breaching a court order, Elgin OPP said on Wednesday.

Lebreton was last seen in the area of Talbot St. and Burwell Rd. in St. Thomas around 9:15am on Tuesday. He is described as Indigenous, 6'1'', 320 lbs, with dark buzz cut hair, and an unshaven face. According to police, Lebreton was wearing a black Under Armour sweater, blue shirt, black shorts and was carrying a blue/black and white Under Armour backpack.

He is known to frequent London and Woodstock.

Anyone who spots Lebreton is advised not to approach him but to call 911. Those with information about where he might be are asked to call Elgin OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
