Lightning Take Championship Series Lead Over Hurricanes

The London Lightning topped the Halifax Hurricanes 110-102 in Game 5 of the NBL Canada finals on Monday.

The Lightning took a three-point lead in the first quarter and extended it to a 60-48 advantage heading into halftime.  London held onto the lead in the third to make it 87-75 at the end of the frame.  Halifax battled back in the final quarter but weren't able to catch up to London's lead before the buzzer.

Doug Herring Jr. led London with 27 points and six assists, while Julian Boyd put up another 22 points and had nine rebounds. Joel Friesen-Latty also had 18 points and three rebounds.

The Lightning now lead the best-of-seven series 3-2.

The two teams head back to Halifax for Game 6 on Thursday at 6pm.
