Hurricanes Force Game 7 With Win Over Lightning

The Halifax Hurricanes topped the London Lightning 112-101 on Thursday to force a Game 7 in the NBL Canada Championship final.

The Lightning trailed Halifax by eight points after the first quarter, but London cut the lead to two points to make it 55-53 for the Hurricanes heading into halftime.  London continued to battle back by tying the game at 79-79 in the third frame, however, the Hurricanes surged in the fourth to win with an 11-point advantage.

Garrett Williamson was the top scorer for London with 27 points and seven assists. Kirk Williams Jr. also put up 22 points and had five rebounds, while Julian Boyd added 17 points and seven rebounds.

The final game of the best-of-seven series will be played in Halifax on Friday at 6pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
