SIU Drops London Investigation

Ontario's police watchdog has terminated an investigation into an incident involving London police.

The Special Investigations Unit began an investigation after the incident on March 31, 2018. Emergency crews had been called to a home in the city after a man slipped on the front steps.

Police were also called to the scene, and when they arrived, the man was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. He spent the night in police custody before being taken to hospital the next day.

“The medical records do not indicate that the man suffered a serious injury," said SIU Director Tony Loparco. "As such, this investigation has been terminated.”
