South London Blaze Causes $125K Damage

London fire officials continue to probe the cause of a house fire in south London that caused $125,000 damage.

Firefighters were called to the home at 130 Ashley Cres., east of Jalna Blvd. by a neighbour who spotted smoke coming from the structure just before 5pm last Sunday.

Crews arrived on scene to find heavy black smoke billowing from the detached home. The fire, which is believed to have started in the living room, was quickly extinguished. No one was inside the home at the time of the blaze.

The main floor of the home has extensive smoke and fire damage, according to fire officials.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
