UPDATE: Suspect In Szaflarski Murder Surrenders To Police

London police have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with the murder of Dereck Szaflarski.

Robert Ashley Williams, 35, attended London Police Headquarters on Wednesday afternoon and was taken into custody, the same day a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Williams is now charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

Szaflarski died early Saturday morning after an altercation at Richmond St. and Piccadilly St. The 27-year-old had been out celebrating his birthday.

Police later released surveillance pictures of a white car, believed to be a Nissan Altima, that investigators said the suspect left the scene in. The vehicle was recovered north of the city and has been returned to London for examination.
