London Woman Faces Multiple Drug Charges

St. Thomas police say a woman is now accused of numerous drug and failure-to-comply charges.

Around 11:30am Saturday, St. Thomas officers responded to a call at Alma St. and Edward St., on a report of someone appearing to smoke illegal drugs in a parked vehicle.

A 29-year-old London woman, who police say was alone, was initially uncooperative with police and provided a false name. She was taken into custody.

Once at the station, the woman was searched, and a substance believed to be cocaine was found, along with drug paraphernalia and cash.

After further investigation, it was determined that the woman was already on probation and serving an intermittent sentence. Police say she was under multiple conditions, including not having non-prescribed drugs or drug paraphernalia on her.

The woman has been held for court, charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, failure to comply with conditions of a recognisance, obstruction of a police officer and breach of probation.
