Glock, Marijuana Seized In Raid

Two Londoners are charged after a police raid in the southwest end turned up a gun, ammunition, and over $15,000 worth of marijuana.

The London police guns and drugs section, which includes members of the RCMP and OPP, searched a home on Wonderland Rd. S Thursday. Officers seized 1,496g of marijuana bud, 5g of cannabis resin, a 9mm handgun, a loaded extended 9mm drum magazine for a Glock, four loaded 9mm Glock magazines, an unloaded 9mm Glock magazine, and $70 in cash.

A 32-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both from London, are charged with possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, and careless use, handling and storage of ammunition.

The man is also charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited.

The man and woman made their first court appearances on the charges Thursday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
