Pedestrian Killed By VIA Rail Train

Oxford County OPP are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and a VIA Rail train in Ingersoll.

Police say the collision took place on Friday at around 7:41 pm near McKeand St. in Ingersoll. The passenger train was travelling westbound on the CN Railway tracks.

The Ingersoll Fire Service, Oxford County Paramedic Services, and Canadian National Police also assisted at the scene.

According to police, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the person is being withheld until next of kin are notified.

The investigation is ongoing.
