Transport Crashes Through 402 Guardrail

Middlesex OPP are investigating after a transport truck crashed through a guardrail, causing significant slowdowns on Hwy. 402 in Strathroy.

The tractor trailer was heading eastbound when it hit the rail and partially entered the grassy median at Hickory Dr. around 8am.

No one was injured in the crash but the guardrail was severely damaged, the OPP said.

The left lane of the highway was closed for roughly five hours causing traffic delays. It was reopened after 1pm.

Police continue to probe the cause of the crash and have not said whether charges will be laid.
