Man Killed In Oxford County Crash

A Father's Day collision in Oxford County has left one driver dead.

Ontario Provincial Police say it happened just before 3:30pm Sunday. A transport truck hauling two trailers was travelling eastbound on Oxford Rd. 29 in Blandford Blenheim Township when it was struck by a car going southbound on Oxford Rd. 22.

OPP Constable Stacey Culbert says the transport truck and trailers left the roadway and flipped over.

The intersection is controlled by stop signs for both directions of traffic on Oxford Rd. 22.

The male of the driver of the car was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He passed away later Sunday evening.

The male driver of the transport truck was treated for minor injuries.

The victim's name has not been released pending the notification of loved ones.

The Blandford Blenheim Township Fire Department, Oxford County Paramedics and ORNGE air ambulance assisted the OPP at the scene. The scene was closed to traffic for several hours.

The crash remains under investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
