SIU Probing Man's Second Storey Fall

The Special Investigations Unit has been called in to investigate after a 34-year-old London man fell from a second storey window during a police standoff at an east-end home.

London police were called to the home on Charlotte St. for a domestic matter around 5pm on Sunday. A man inside refused to come out and was "uncooperative" with officers, police allege. He was eventually arrested after he came crashing to the ground from the second storey of the home.

The man was then taken to hospital with what the SIU has called "serious" injuries.

The province's police watchdog has assigned two investigators and one forensic investigator to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident. They are asking anyone with information or video evidence related to the case to call them at 1-800-787-8529 or upload the footage to the SIU website.

The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
