Driver Charged After Crash With Transport

Two people had to be taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash involving a transport truck south of Belmont Tuesday.

A grey pickup truck was heading north on Dorchester Rd. when it collided with a tractor trailer travelling west on Crossley-Hunter Line around 5:15am.

The drivers of both vehicles suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The intersection is controlled by a pair of stop signs on Dorchester Rd.

The pickup driver, a 34-year-old Central Elgin man, has been charged with failing to yield.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
