Charges Laid In Shooting

Nearly three weeks after shots were fired in an east London neighbourhood, police say a charge of attempted murder has been laid.

Police were called to a home on Oxford St. E near Third St. around 4am on June 10 after reports of shots being fired. Officers found bullet casings at the scene. No injuries were reported and those involved had left the scene before police arrived.

After an investigation, police announced Friday that Shavonne Nicholas, 27, of London has been charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm with intent to wound, and possession of a loaded regulated firearm without authorization.

Police are still looking for a second person believed to have been involved in the shooting.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident, or the identity of the second involved person is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com
