Teen Charged In Replica Gun Incident

Weapons charges have been laid against a 16-year-old boy following a dramatic take-down by London police in the downtown.

Officers were called about a male spotted with a firearm at Citi Plaza on Wellington St. around 2:30pm on Wednesday. Several officers flooded the area and a teen was quickly arrested at the corner of Wellington St. and King St. Police could be seen with their weapons drawn descending upon the suspect.

It was later determined the weapon was a replica firearm. No one was injured during the incident.

A 16-year-old male, who can not be named because of his age, is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of an imitation weapon.

He will appear in court to answer to the charges on September 17.
