UPDATE: Suspicious London Death A Homicide

London police say a suspicious death is now being treated as a homicide.

Officers were called Friday evening to a ravine in the Wortley Rd. and Stanley St. area, where they discovered the body of a man. Police were directed to the area by a passerby. The body was transported to University Hospital where a post-mortem determined that the death was a result of murder.

The victim has been identified as William Edward McPherson, 60, of London.

Police are looking into McPherson's activities since Monday and are asking for the public's help with filling in the blanks. Police have released a photo to help jog the memory of anyone who may have had an interaction with him.

Anyone who may have had contact with McPherson between Monday and Friday evening is urged to give London police a call at 519-661-5670, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.

Police say the investigation is still in its earliest stages.
