UPDATE: Norfolk County Collision Kills Motorcyclist

A 38-year-old motorcyclist is dead following a crash in Norfolk County.

Ontario Provincial Police say the incident happened around 2pm Saturday on Spooky Hollow Rd. in Charlotteville. Constable Ed Sanchuk says a blue-and-white-coloured motorcycle was traveling southwest along the road with other riders when it somehow went off the roadway. The motorcycle entered the west side of the road and crashed into a tree and a metal gate.

The rider, from London, suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The OPP has identified the deceased as Phillip E. Howard of London.

Spooky Hollow Rd. was closed between Front Rd. and Front Rd. of Normandale for about six hours so the investigation can be completed.

Sanchuk says alcohol and speed are not considered factors in the crash.
