Ruptured Water Main Repaired

Water should be back to normal for residents in the White Oaks neighbourhood.

A ruptured water main Sunday released rust from iron water pipes throughout the area. The result was yellowish water that could stain laundry, but did not pose any health concerns.

By 9am Monday, the city stated the water main had been repaired and the lines had been flushed.

"Water should now be back to normal. Residents who still have discoloured water after flushing their taps are asked to call 519-661-4739," a city official said in a statement.

Any reports of further discoloured water that may be received will be forwarded to crews who can flush out affected water mains.
