High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A wanted Central Elgin man described by police as potentially dangerous has now been arrested.
Elgin OPP announced Tuesday afternoon that Christopher George had been located in London and was arrested without incident.
The 37-year-old had been wanted on an outstanding warrant. George's arrested came just a few hours after police issued an appeal to the public for help finding him. At the time, police noted he has ties to London and Sarnia.
Police expressed their gratitude to the public for their help in locating George.
